We experienced bread from a domestic breadmaker for the first time on 5 February at a friend's house. My wife was very impressed - she had previously thought (and I think I probably shared her view) that these machines couldn't possibly be any good. Anyway she was so taken that we decided to buy one.
She did some online research and concluded the Panasonic SD255 was the one to go for - it clearly had the most consistent favourable reviews. We ordered one from Amazon. It arrived (prompt as ever) on 12 February and we have used it frequently and regularly ever since. We've made a variety of different loaves (although we still have a long way to go to work our way through the long menu) and we can only say we are absolutely delighted with the results. As there are only the two of us at home now we tend to go for the smallest of the 3 sizes.
Two of our sons have also been so impressed with our results that they, too, have bought one each from Amazon.
We can't recommend it enough!

Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser
Since it arrived two weeks ago I have made bread day and night (thats the best bit) for self and other family. It takes 7 mins flat to 'measure and go' after the first two. I got a plastic measuring jug so I dont have to hoik out the scales every time and you soon learn how to measure 15gms of butter by eye. The instruction and recipe book that comes with it is excellent,I wish I hadn't got another book as well.We love the wheatmeal loaf (medium)which costs about 45p and the parmesan and sundried tomato one is to die for. Persevere the first time you set timer etc. the cancel proceedure works and you soon get the hang of its little brain! I am now a total bread bore to my friends.

After being sick to death of poor quality shop bought bread we decided to give this a go. Haven't looked back since and would highly recommend it.
Fresh bread with fresh ingredients. Its so easy to use and clean.
Only down side is you can only produce a one size loaf, but no other complaints otherwise.
Definitely recommend a bread keeper to go with it to store your loaves as it keeps them fresher for longer

I have had a Panasonic breadmaker for several years and have used it every time we needed a lof of bread. The new Panasonic Breadmaker SD255 has 2 new features - the most helpful is the raisin/nut dispenser. The dispenser automatically dispenses the raisin/nuts/seeds into the breadmixer at a later time and then mixes the dispensed contents into the breadmix. The other new feature is the ability to prepare and bake a rye bread, using the programming and a special rye bread dough blade.

I was so happy to receive this bread-maker as I was impressed by all the reviews and must say that as I just ate the first bread I ever made in my life it was fantastic. I followed the bread recipe from attached book for olive bread and it was very easy to make it and tastes very very good. I already look forward to try a new recipe next day.
