Really Smooth March 16, 2010

We've had this trimmer for over 6 months now.. what used to be a tedious difficult job has been turned into a pleasure, I actually enjoy cutting the hedge with these. Apart from its tough durable design what really strikes me in the sharpness and design of the cutting teeth. Nothing stands in the way, when cutting the hedges it just glides through with zero resistance. This is a lovely trimmer, We've had various branded trimmers but nothing comes close to this one. 5 stars!

My Challenger hedgecutters broke after 10 years light service. The Bosch have slightly shorter blades but are a little heavier - I think this is because the blades are thicker and better quality. I decided to buy corded ones because 1) they are lighter and 2) they are always ready to use - no waiting for it to charge up.

I was very impressed with my Bosch AHS 48-16 Electric Hedgecutter. With arthritis, the use of hedgeclippers took me well over an hour to make an impression on a large Leylandii hedge - with the trimmer it took uder 10 minutes to produce an almost perfect result. It was easy to handle and reached branches well above head level.

A satisfactory product - light enough to be convenient to use and well balanced to get into those difficult spaces. My only constructive criticsm is that the blade guard could be more substantial and able to be fixed to the wall to make a safe convenient palce to store the unit. Keeping a hedge cutter on a shelf is inconvenient and occupied much valuable space.
