I had this bag bought for me for my 21st birthday and I've been mightily pleased with it. The camera section is padded by 2 layers of padding, spanning roughly an inch and a half thick. There's enough room for my 400d body, sigma 10-20, canon 55-250mm IS and the standard kit lens in the padded compartment. The laptop section fits my 17" wide screen notebook perfectly and the main compartment easily fits lunch, chargers, pens, spare discs, usb cables and my flash.
The bag itself is very comfortable to wear and seems to get even more comfortable with more weight inside it. The build quality is very good, stitching is secure and the bag feels secure and firm. There are also several neat features like fabric over the zips and little side pouches for quickly putting away lens caps and sheets of paper.
I also discovered from a recent hike back home that its pretty good at fighting off the rain, a 2 mile walk home in a constant downpour left my clothes drenched, but aside from the outside material being wet, the inside compartments were nice and dry, so my camera was still perfectly all right.
The only reason for the 4 stars, is because i can't seem to find a way of attaching my tripod to the bag to save me carrying it. The only solution I can think of is getting a separate tripod shoulder sling.
Very good product for the price.
