Awesome Mug! March 7, 2010 hez (Philadelphia, PA) I ordered this mug after much research (reading reviews). This travel mug does not disappoint. It does exactly what it is supposed to: keep your drink hot or cold and it does not spill. I especially like the push button seal and the sassy green color. Only downside, it only holds 16 ounces. You get over that fact quickly because the mug is Awesome!
Since ordering it a year ago, I've used it EVERY day. March 6, 2010 MizKitty417 (San Antonio, TX) I have cabinets FULL of mugs. ALL KINDS of mugs. Small mugs, Large mugs, Travel Mugs, Insulated Mugs, etc. Since ordering the Contigo Insulated Travel Mug, they're mostly untouched. I use this every day and I take it everywhere. Trust me, it doesn't leak if you take half a second to put the lid on properly. I've had this mug rattling around at the bottom of a large tote bag along with all my other stuff. It rolled around during a long car trip, but NEVER leaked. It will keep beverages either hot or cold for SEVERAL hours! My favorite is the green one. Love the color. But I have two others. I try to use one for coffee, one for tea, and one for cold beverages. Cleaning it is pretty easy and hassle free, but DON'T wait to empty it out and clean it. That's what caused problems for me. If you use HOT water and maybe a little vinegar, it will stay clean and shouldn't get "gunk" stuck in the lid. I gave this to my best friend AND another one to my brother-in-law for their birthday last month. Both of them love it. If you know a coffee lover or someone who's always traveling, this would be the perfect gift. Maybe I should have kept this short and said, "I LOVE THIS MUG!" but I wanted to explain why.
Works well March 3, 2010 Marvin A. Cespedes (Chicago, IL) I am impressed by how well this functions. Does not spill, keeps my coffee warm and is still easy to hold despite how hot the coffee may be.
Not leaking is the only plus February 28, 2010 Mona Lisa Yep, the cup does not leak and that's why I am keeping it. I used to have a Starbucks mug which leaked on my itouch - NOT GOOD! However, I am a bit disappointed that the mug doesn't keep my tea hot - not even for an hour, therefore only three stars.
uncleanable mug February 16, 2010 Rich (van nuys, ca ,usa) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this because it was highly rated in a consumer magazine. OK, it looks nice, fits well in your hand, mine doesn't leak...however, when you put hot liquid in it there is a strong taste of plastic. This does not go away. The lid cannot be cleaned adequately and coffee accumulates to eventually wash out as scum which is disgusting. It does not keep things hot which may be a plus as maybe it is releasing less toxins as the liquid cools. I cannot recommend this to anyone and can't even bring myself to put them in a yard sale so I guess they will go to the recycle barrel. What a waste of money and I would liek to know if the people who like them have taste buds that work. I even tried q-tips to clean the lid without success.
